Children's Center of Hamden

We’re proud to share that The Children’s Center of Hamden has received a $250,000 award through Connecticut’s Community Investment Fund 2030 program! This vital funding will support planning for future campus improvements and expanded behavioral health services for children and families across Greater New Haven.

For more than 190 years, TCCOH has evolved to meet the needs of our community. As the demand for youth behavioral health services continues to grow, this investment will help strengthen access to care for the future.

We are deeply grateful to Office of Governor Ned Lamont, the Community Investment Fund Board, State Representative Josh Elliott , and our local legislative delegation for their support and advocacy.

At The Children’s Center of Hamden, our village is professional, integrated, and caring.

From Behavioral Health Therapists and Psychiatrists to Direct Care Workers, our teams collaborate daily to ensure every child is seen from every angle.

Youth who come to our programs may be vulnerable, but they also carry incredible strength and a powerful willingness to heal.

Our clinicians meet children in their most difficult moments, offering a safe, expert space to begin again.

We meet them exactly where they are — and help them build the strength to move forward.

For Mental Health Awareness Month, we are looking at behavior differently.

Our Substance Screening, Treatment, and Recovery for Youth (SSTRY) Program Manager, Leanne Des Rosiers, notes that many “behaviors” are actually survival skills children use to adapt to hardship.

At The Children’s Center of Hamden, we don't judge; we provide the resources to move from surviving to thriving.
