"...the place to be where the love of Christ is lived and shared." St. Rita School is a Catholic elementary school located in Hamden, Connecticut.
We educate children in grades Pre-K through Grade 8. Rita School is a community of children, parents, teachers and religious of the Church. The primary goal of the school is to nurture Catholic Christian moral principals by providing a warm, caring and positive atmosphere. Furthermore, our goal is to teach the young to grow spiritually, intellectually, socially and physically, and to see that each child's gifts and talents are recognized and encouraged.

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream! Second Grade Science got a little sweeter when students made ice cream using salt, ice and coffee creamer. After 10 minutes of shaking, they enjoyed a sweet little treat. This is very cool!

Got cereal? During Ms. Keyes' Art Class, our sixth-grade class tackled the challenge of creating their own cereal boxes. They studied character development and cereal box design before taking on this multi-month project. When the projects were completed, students voted for their favorite cereal box. Congratulations to 1st Place winner, "Kindness Crunch" by Katalina Lopez, and 2nd Place, "Axo Krunch" by Erin Tchoula.

Second Grade learned all about worms and even got to measure and observe real worms! Lots of silly kids in Mrs. Perrotti's class even pretended to eat them! Of course, they got gummy worms instead to enjoy as a snack.

This morning we celebrated the last school Mass with our 8th grade class. Father Tiano reminded them to embrace their time at St. Rita School and take with them the love of Jesus, our Shepherd. "Hold on to Love" Crusaders as you embark on your next chapter. We will miss you!
