All are invited to celebrate Manny Carreiro's life next Saturday, May 29.

A memorial service for Dr. Manuel C. Carreiro, the former vice president and dean of students who passed away March 22, 2017, will be held Saturday, April 29, at 11:30 a.m. at the United Church on the Green in New Haven.

A continuation of the memorial service will take place at Quinnipiac University with a luncheon. It will be held in Burt Kahn Court in the Athletic Center on the Mount Carmel Campus from 1-3 p.m. All are invited to attend.

Carreiro dedicated the majority of his professional life to Quinnipiac. In addition to serving on the president’s cabinet as vice president and dean of students, he oversaw residential life, campus life, career services, athletics, student health services, counseling and campus ministry.

In his most recent role as senior adviser to the executive vice president and provost, Carreiro provided consultation and insight regarding student engagement and well-being.

An endowed scholarship which will provide financial aid to an outstanding student leader has been established in honor of Manny. To make a memorial contribution, visit www.qu.edu/give and choose "Manuel Carreiro Endowed Scholarship" as the designation. Checks should be made payable to Quinnipiac University and mailed to Quinnipiac University, Office of Development and Alumni Affairs, AH-DVP, 275 Mount Carmel Ave., Hamden, CT 06518. On the check's memo, please note "Carreiro Memorial Scholarship".

Hey, OLs: Mark your calendars now for Reunion 2015: June 19-21. We'll be offering on-campus housing in The Suites, so get 7 friends and plan to come back to Quinnipiac for a great weekend!

Spoke with the Quinnipiac Alumni Office yesterday. We are close to having the Cheryl Barnard Scholarship for Orientation Leaders funded! What this means is that an orientation leader will receive a scholarship maybe as soon as next fall (and every fall here on out)! Over time (as more people donate) there's a chance that we might be able to give a student a larger amount or award 2 or more scholarships! Thanks to all the Quinnipiac alumni who have donated to this very awesome cause. If you are going to Reunion Weekend next year (which was awesome this summer) make sure you donate to the OL Scholarship!
