Weaves - Problem solving with Bonnie Griep!

Strong weave poles are built on understanding—not repetition. This class is designed to help teams identify and solve common weave pole challenges while building confidence, consistency, and independence.

We’ll focus on troubleshooting skills such as:

Difficult weave entries from a variety of approaches and angles.
Clean, committed exits.
Pole popping and missed poles.
Forward focus and driving ahead maintaining rhythm and footwork.
Handler position and motion without disrupting performance.
Speed without sacrificing accuracy.
Independence and obstacle commitment
Proofing against common course challenges and distractions.

Whether your dog is just learning to weave or you’re preparing for competition, this class will provide practical exercises to strengthen understanding, improve consistency, and create confident, reliable weave pole performance. Each team will work through individualized exercises designed to address their specific challenges while building the skills needed for success on course.

Recommended for dogs that can perform at least a partial set of weave poles independently. Dogs should have an understanding of the weave pole obstacle, as this is a problem-solving class rather than an introduction to weaving.

We have some great new special topics coming up with Bonnie Griep! Both are posted on the website and open for registration.

Impulse Control for Agility Dogs

Speed is exciting—but control wins runs. This class is designed to build the self-control and focus your dog needs to perform confidently in and out of the agility ring.

We’ll work on essential impulse control skills including:

Reliable start-line stays.
Fence running and ring-entry manners.
Handler focus despite distractions.
Release cue understanding.
Toy and food impulse control.
Engagement and connection.
Building value for staying with the handler.
Waiting to work without frustration.
Maintaining criteria under increasing excitement.

Through fun, reward-based exercises, teams will learn how to channel enthusiasm into thoughtful, responsive behavior. Whether your dog struggles to hold a start line, gets distracted outside the ring, or simply needs better self-control around exciting environments, this class will provide practical skills that translate directly to better agility performance and everyday life.

Suitable for dogs of all levels, from foundation students to experienced competition teams looking for more consistency.
