Merry Christmas from HES Early Steps to School Success!! ❤️

Christmas time is one of the most valuable learning opportunities for a toddler! Don’t let it pass by without completing some of these activities!

*Identify colors while pointing at Christmas lights.

*Let toddler wrap presents (in their own way) with scrap paper to work on those fine motor skills.

*Let them decorate their own mini tree.

*Give them a soup spoon or noodle grabber and a bucket of plastic ornament balls. Show them how to pick up the balls with the kitchen utensil. This activity will help with pencil grasping.

*Have an indoor candy cane hunt.

*Give toddler a bowl, spoon, and a little bit of water to pretend like they are cooking while you are cooking Christmas dinner.

*Let toddler decorate boxes after opening presents then let them climb over and in the boxes to work on gross motor skills.

*Read a Christmas book every night before bed.

*Make a bird feeder with seed, unflavored gelatin and a cookie cutter.

“Santa’s Workshop” was nothing less than a success! I had over half of my program participants show up this week!! 👏🏻 Every smile was worth the endless hours of melting crayons, drawing and painting face hole cutout boards, and making sure everything was just perfect! ❤️
