We look forward to seeing everyone next week to round off another great summer of 4-H! We will be providing the sub sandwiches; feel free to bring a side or dessert to share. Should weather conditions not align with our picnic plans, we will move to the Kittson County Courthouse.

Up in the corner of Northwest Minnesota, we wrapped up another strong 4-H Outdoor Adventures Camp at Lake Bronson. Our campers made the most of every minute!

Youth spent three days building real outdoor skills and confidence through hands‑on learning:
-Campfire cooking, practicing fire safety and preparing their own meals
-History of Lake Bronson through artifacts, see photo of campers alongside archaeologists of the Historical Society of Minnesota
-Archery and BB/Air Rifle, focusing on responsibility, accuracy, and safe handling
-ATV riding, learning trail rules and outdoor stewardship
-Illustration sessions with local author Joni Armstrong, painting artwork for a collaboration that will lead to a 4-H camp book
-Survival and tenting skills for the older group
-Outdoor safety, the use of safety equipment, skulls, furs, and animal behavior with Minnesota DNR…and more!

Our campers showed curiosity, teamwork, and a willingness to try new things. They represented their counties well.

A sincere thank you to everyone who made this camp possible: our cooks, camp nurse, counselors, chaperones, instructors, campers, and the full 4-H NW overnight camp staff team. Your time, care, and expertise created an experience these youth will carry forward into future adventures.

The results are in! Congratulations to our blue ribbon drill team exhibitors on both the large and small freestyle teams! The large freestyle team punched their ticket to the MN State Horse Show in September following the MN State Fair. We look forward to cheering you on down at the state competition!

Final reminder and last call for anyone still interested in joining us for our last 4-H day camp of the summer! We're also looking for a few older youth who have completed 7th grade+ to be counselors!

For those attending, please make sure to pack a lunch, water bottle, and swim gear, as we will be hitting up the pool in the afternoon! 4-H will cover day passes for youth who don't already have.

Congratulations and Thank You! With the Kittson County Fair come and gone for this year, we wanted to take time to congratulate all those who were recognized at the 4-H Showcase on Sunday, July 19 in addition to those who may not have been publicly appreciated, but whose above-and-beyond efforts and commitment to Kittson County 4-H and the Kittson County Fair make an amazing program like ours possible to encourage the fantastic youth of Kittson County to learn and grow! Whether you're a 4-H volunteer, fairboard member, malt or food stand manager, program or auction donor, barn superintendent, club leader, parent, or Kittson County community member - we THANK YOU for the part you play in supporting the Kittson County 4-H program and the Kittson County Fair!
