Sacred Heart Catholic School is a Pre-K3 through 12th grade school, accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department, a member of the National Catholic Education Association, and recognized by the Texas Education Agency. The school was founded in 1882 by the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament. Sacred Heart Catholic School is a non-profit and self-supported Catholic

parochial school. In 2015, during its most recent accreditation evaluation, Sacred Heart Catholic School was recognized with the most Exemplary ratings ever given to a school by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED), through its association with the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC). Accreditation includes a self-study of numerous areas such as mission and goals, curriculum, safety standards, student services, and facilities. Once the self-study is completed and submitted to TCCED, a week-long site visit is conducted, made up of a team consisting of administrators and educators from other private schools. The team evaluates all areas, visits classrooms, talks with staff and students and parents, and observes the day to day school operations. Sacred Heart Catholic School received an exemplary or outstanding rating in 90% of the areas evaluated. The majority of our students continue to score at or above the national average on national standard achievement tests and college entrance exams. Ninety-nine percent of our graduates continue their education at a college, university, or vocational school.

Mrs Loudon’s pre-K 3 had a busy first full week of school! We learned all about the alphabet and coconut trees with Chick a Chick a Boom Boom. 🌴 Mrs. Taylor brought us dried coconut to try! We also learned to recognize our special names, got a tour of the church with Father Chris, went to the big kid library, and attended school Mass! Oh and we started our daily show and tell!

Fred the helpless gummy worm has been saved by Third Grade!

Fred was careless with his boating skills and capsized without his life preserver!

They were tasked to only use 4 paper clips to save Fred from on top of his boat and INTO his life preserver. They handled it with teamwork, problem solving, engineering and communication.

Fred was saved, at least until it was time to celebrate the success!
