Winnetuxet Children's Place We are an experienced, private preschool and extended-day child care center offering professional services to Halifax and surrounding communities.

The role of an early childhood program is one of facilitating children and their families in exploring and discovering the human potential in each of us. As owner of the business, I work in the classroom providing an intimate, professional atmosphere. Individual activities and collective experiences are designed to challenge each child at her/his own developmental level, encourage participation an

d a strong, secure sense of community. Parents are encouraged to view teacher(s) as a source of support in the challenging task of child-rearing. Please feel free to discuss issues that are important to you as a parent and any concerns you have for your child. I encourage you to maintain an open dialogue with me, as communication between parents and Educators is the foundation for a solid working relationship, and a good child care experience. I strongly believe that learning is a natural out-growth of exploration. I have designed the program as a place where children can explore and discover through social connections, play, projects, manipulative engagement, sensory stimulation, pre-academic skill exposure and circle time activities. It has been my experience that academic achievement in later years comes most easily to children who have a firm grounding in concrete play experiences.

The kids got an opportunity to reel in their parents and grandparents at pick-up...what a catch! Striped Bass was the artful focus, tracing an actual taxidermy Striper, adding details then painting. FAB results!💙🎣🐟
