Learning "For Real"

Learning "For Real" The Lord has blessed me with many gifts and talents, and I have used them as needed throughout my life.

About Elizabeth Jaskolski

Many in the Facebook audience have read about me in various roles... Singer (The Mountain Tops, the performing duo with my husband), author ( United We Heal, my recently published book in Amazon written during the coronavirus shelter-at-home period), dance teacher (World of Dance, dance classes that I started at the Sautee Nacoochee Center... cut short by the coronavirus

), and elementary school teacher, (Learning “For Real “). I was born in New York and as a child did nothing but dance... choreographing dances and performing them for family members. Having been born into a European family where dance was not considered a profession, I did not start my dance training until later as a teenager. I earned my undergraduate degree in dance education from New York University. This degree covered ballet, modern dance, creative movement and various ethnic dances. Courses also included anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology to ensure proper teaching without harming the body. Due to a serious motor vehicle accident, I had to detour away from dance temporarily. My husband and I moved to California where I did post graduate work in Elementary education at San Francisco State University. This earned me a Life Credential in teaching elementary education through eighth grade. We returned to New York, and there I pursued and earned a Masters degree in elementary education from SUNY Oneonta in New York. My teaching certification from both California and New York has a reciprocity with Georgia. In a small town in upstate New York I taught at an elementary school as a Title I remedial math teacher and as an enrichment teacher for grades one through six. Later, I worked as an academic director in a private Elementary school. After retiring from the school system, I opened a tutoring school in New Jersey called Learning “For Real” and worked with students from grades one through eight in reading, language arts, and mathematics for 10 years. Music was still in my blood and my husband convinced me to attempt singing following our head-on collision in 1994. This led to our professional duo called “The Mountain Tops”. We successfully performed in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Georgia, as well as in Germany. Presently, we are still performing in Georgia; as a matter of fact, we will be at the Hofbrauhaus in Helen during the Oktoberfest in 2020. In 2017 we returned to the United States and moved to the beautiful northern mountains of Georgia. Now after three years in Georgia and the disturbing coronavirus, I decided to reopen Learning “For Real”. I look forward to working with the children and restoring academic stability. Unfortunately, on November 19, 2020, my husband and I were in a very serious head-on motor vehicle collision due to the actions of a DUI motorist. Our vehicle was totaled, and we are still suffering the consequences of that accident. We will be doctoring for quite a while, but thanks to our chiropractor, Dr. Rochester, in Clarkesville, we are functioning and improving. Learning “For Real” is open; my love for teaching and working with the children has been very helpful in drawing my attention away from the difficulties resulting from that accident.
