Service to Community: We are committed to serving our community by supporting the financial and institutional needs of our public school system. We are inclusive and reflective of the needs

of the coastside, and embrace the diversity of our community. Transparency: We are accessible, responsive, and make information about our work and funding priorities readily available to the community. We are open, honest, and forthcoming in all our work and actively seek public input in our decision-making. Sustainability: We manage our resources wisely and are dedicated to making long-term sustainable contributions to the coastside. Our actions and decision-making include a clear priority on ensuring the benefits of our work are lasting and form the basis of a long-term investment in our public school system. Collaboration: We build collaborative ventures across the coastside community to provide the best possible outcome for our students. We work with parents, teachers, administrators, and students, as well as public entities and non-profit organizations, to find the best possible ways to serve the educational needs of our community. Innovation: We encourage and welcome an atmosphere of learning, discovery, and innovation. We are flexible and open to creative solutions benefiting our students. We encourage a culture creativity fun, and community engagement, and intend to meet our challenges with an optimistic and forward-looking attitude.

Here is what Pat Mann, who is the chairperson for the Kings Mountain Art Fair children’s area, had to say about working with Christina to get volunteers!
“When I contacted her a month ago, she responded to me immediately even though she was on summer vacation. She guided me in what would be the best date available and booked it immediately. She provided me with a perfect location. Anecdotally, she had set-up her computer on the larger table and when she saw how many displays I had, she quickly relinquished her table and moved her things to the smaller table. A gracious host indeed.

Over the hour I was there, I was able to observe a lot of interactions. It is clear that Christina is loved by the faculty and staff and most importantly, the KIDS! She has an upbeat, fun loving, “chill” demeanor that makes everyone feel comfortable. Watching her interact with many different personalitiies with ease highlights her sensitivity and clear perceptions.”
CEF couldn’t be prouder of how this program is supporting students and the community!!

A Note as I Step Down as CEF’s Executive Director

After 7 1/2 years, I’ve decided to step down as Executive Director of the Cabrillo Education Foundation. The thought of leaving is bittersweet because the role brought me such a sense of joy and fulfillment.

While raising funds and allocating them was a major part of the job, I don’t measure the time spent in fiscal years but, instead:
    •    Donor Thank You parties
    •    Coastside Gives days that started before sunrise and went until midnight
    •    Inspired collaboration with our local partners — CUSD, BGCC, the PTOS, the City of HMB, ALAS, CoastPride, and the Mavericks Community Foundation
    •    Eight years of Co****le Tournaments spent with the community on a September weekend
    •    Pumpkin Fest photo booth days sharing the amazement of the winning gourd with both locals and visitors
    •    Looking into the eyes of graduating seniors as they received their Coastside Futures scholarships

I want to thank the teachers who welcomed me into their classrooms so I could see exactly where the Innovation Grant dollars went, and the board members who devoted their free time (lots of it!) to meetings and events because they believe, like I do, that public education on the Coastside needs and deserves community support.

I’m proud of what we built together, and I know I’m leaving CEF in strong, capable hands. To every donor, volunteer, teacher, and family who supported the foundation during my time, thank you for trusting me with it. It has been an honor.

With so much gratitude and hope to see you at Co****le Sept. 26!

Why do we throw a co****le tournament? 🎯 Swipe through →
Because not everyone plays golf. We wanted an event where anyone in this community — kids, grandparents, first-timers, competitive family bragging rights and all — could show up and play. No skill required, just show up and toss a bag.
This year, funds from our 8th Annual Co****le Tournament go toward expanding Real Life Learning at Half Moon Bay High School — a program that helps students find service work that actually connects to their passions.
None of this happens without our sponsors, who invest in this community and get a fun, visible platform to grow their own brand right back. 🙌
And here’s the thing: you don’t have to play to matter. Kids’ zone, food trucks, beer & alcohol vendors — just showing up supports these students.
