✨ What an amazing start to the school year! ✨

Students from Pre-K through 5th grade have spent the month diving into all of the fun that Geometry has to offer! 🔷📐

We’ve explored shapes, classified quadrilaterals, built 3D shapes with Play-Doh, and created some beautiful geometric artwork!

Today, we also celebrated our “STEAM Dream Team” award winners for the month of August! 🏆 This is a class from each grade level who has shown outstanding behavior, hard work, and problem-solving skills in STEAM.

I am so proud of the way our students have jumped into the new school year with curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm! 💙

Here’s to an amazing year of learning, creating, and dreaming BIG! 🚀✨

Green screen fun with 🫧 BUBBLES 🫧

Yesterday was our last STEAM DAY in Kindergarten for this school year! What better way to end by a 🫧“BUBBLE BONANZA” lesson! 🫧
We started our “bubble engineering” today by discussing what bubbles are made of…soap + water + air.
Soap helps trap air by making a thin stretchy film.
We discussed why bubbles are round, and that the shape is a sphere (because it uses the least amount of space. )
We also formed GIANT bubbles using sticks and a rope!
The kids made guesses on why they thought bubbles sometimes pop! (They all had pretty good guesses!)
The oil in our hands cause bubbles to pop! We tested this theory by wearing a sock over our hands. We were able to touch it without it popping!

Students made predictions about whether or not the bubble would be the same shape as our wand (heart…star…flower)
They discovered… ALL bubbles become spheres!
We ended our lesson today with a “BUBBLE BONANZA”CERTIFICATE and had a quick minute to use the green screen and “jump into a bubble!”
