Weโ€™re proud to celebrate Jenny Stollenwerk, Head of School at Journeys Lutheran School, on her appointment to the Wisconsin Council on Special Education through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction! ๐ŸŽ‰

The Council advises and assists the DPI in developing policies and guidelines that impact children and youth with disabilities across Wisconsin. Jenny will bring her experience, perspective, and deep commitment to students and families to this important work during her three-year term.

Every day at Journeys, we see Jennyโ€™s passion for advocating for students with disabilities and creating opportunities for every student to learn, grow, and thrive. Weโ€™re excited to see her bring that same dedication, thoughtful leadership, and strong voice to the Council.

Collin is a recent graduate of Carthage College and comes to us with a lifelong connection to Lutheran educationโ€”he grew up with his mom as a Lutheran school teacher. Yesterday we were still about $18,000 short of our $50,000 matching gift goal.
And then someone called Journeys and offered to give whatever was needed to close the gap.

We are overwhelmed by the generosity that surrounded this campaign. From every person who gave $25 or $50, to those who made larger gifts, to the donor who stepped forward at the very end, every single gift helped get us here.

Last week, the halls of Journeys were filled once again with smiling faces, excited students, and plenty of first-day energy as we kicked off a brand-new school year!

It's your last chance to make twice the difference through our August Matching Campaign.

Because of generous supporters, we've made incredible progress restoring Journeys Lutheran School after last year's flooding. But there is still important work ahead, including roofing, bathroom renovations, windows, doors, and other building improvements that help create safe, welcoming spaces for our students.

Every gift made through August 31st will be matched dollar for dollar, up to our $50,000 goal.
