Our keiki spotted something magical this week — mushrooms blooming after the rains, a perfect reminder that life is always at work beneath the surface. 🌿

We paused our fire drill and took time to notice — to look closely at the mycelium web that connects everything, just as we are all connected to one another and to ʻāina.

Then we checked in on our mountain apple tree 🍎 — newly relocated and thriving in its new home!

🌺These moments remind us that learning isn’t only planned; it grows naturally in the rhythm of each day.

This week, we planted lemon, tangerine, and jackfruit seeds, learning how patience, care, and sunlight help everything — and everyone — grow. 🌞

From worm bins to planting pots, every act of tending teaches connection. The soil we care for becomes the soil that sustains us.

🪱 Learning Beneath Our Hands 🌿

At Ka Hana Pono, learning begins in the most unexpected places — even in our worm bins!

This week, our keiki worked together to feed our red wigglers, ripping cardboard to create soft bedding and layering it with compost. Through this simple act, they discovered how everything alive is connected — soil, plants, worms, and us. 🌱

Worm work teaches patience, care, and the quiet magic of transformation.
