This is one of the best beginner spots for surf lessons in Oahu. 🌊
Chun’s Reef has mellow waves, a mellow vibe, and plenty of space to practice - perfect for first-timers and families.

During summer, we bring our students here to paddle out, learn the basics, and spot a turtle or two while we’re at it. 🐢 With calm waters and our instructors nearby, it’s one of the easiest places to fall in love with surfing.

Surfing is more than just a fun activity—it’s an experience that helps kids grow in incredible ways:
🕺 Confidence & Resilience: Surfing teaches kids to face challenges, celebrate progress, and keep going, even after a wipeout. Every wave boosts their self-esteem!
🤸 Balance & Coordination: It’s an incredible workout for their body and mind, improving motor skills, core strength, and overall coordination.
🧘 Patience & Focus: Waiting for the perfect wave and learning to read the ocean helps kids, including those with ADHD, develop patience and sharpen their focus in a way no other sport can.

We’ve designed the perfect surf lessons for kids aged 2-12:
👯‍♂️ Tandem Lessons: Perfect for younger kids, where they ride the waves safely with one of our expert instructors right by their side.
🕺 One-on-One Lessons: Kids can get their own dedicated instructor to guide them step by step, helping them gain confidence and catch their first waves.

Thank you Darrell for returning with the Ohana and trusting in us to make the experience a memorable one! mid summer waves! we’ve been blessed with some to keep us busy! We always ask, (what’s the funniest experience you’ve had on vacation) and time after time (this) “surfing” is the answer from everyone’s response’s. lucky to call this home! Mahalo!
