In a sweet display of compassion, a group of students saved two trapped beetles from a hummingbird feeder. Thanks to their empathetic actions, these tiny creatures were able to continue living their lives in peace. Let's all strive to show empathy towards all living beings and make kindness a priority in our daily lives.

Today we celebrated trolls and made our very own troll homes and clay trolls. We used our beloved air dry clay recipe: 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup corn starch, and 3/4 cup of water, and simmered and stirred until the mix looked just like mashed potatoes. It was so much fun!

🍉🍔👩‍🍳 Attention all budding chefs! Our June lunch menu has arrived, and we're excited to offer a variety of delicious and nutritious meals for our students. But we also want to encourage kids to get into the kitchen and learn valuable cooking skills!

🥦🌽🍇 That's why we're inviting students to participate in cooking class where they can learn how to prepare simple and healthy meals using fresh ingredients. We believe that cooking skills are an important life skill and can help foster independence, creativity, and a healthy relationship with food.

🍳🍗 Whether your child is a seasoned chef or just starting to learn their way around the kitchen, we welcome everyone to come and learn with us. Seasonal place-based learning is an incredible way to connect with the natural world around us and deepen our understanding of local ecosystems. By tuning into the changes that occur during different seasons, we can begin to appreciate the ways in which plants, animals, and other living things adapt and thrive in their environments.

Through hands-on activities like spruce tip painting, we can learn about local plants, their uses, and the unique characteristics that make them essential to the local environment. This type of learning not only fosters a deeper connection to the natural world but also helps us to develop a sense of place and a greater appreciation of our local communities.

So why not give seasonal place-based learning a try this season? Take a nature walk, collect some spruce tips or other natural materials, and see what you can create.
