We are so proud to celebrate Kody Johnson for being recognized by “Character Counts! Washington County” for demonstrating the Six Pillars throughout the 2025–2026 school year, and more specifically the pillar of Caring!💚

Kody consistently shows kindness and compassion both in and out of the classroom. Whether he is helping classmates, making sure others have what they need, sharing what he can, or comforting students who are upset, Kody goes out of his way to care for others each and every day.

Thank you, Kody, for being such a positive role model and for helping make Eastern Elementary a caring and supportive place for everyone! Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!🎉

As Staff Appreciation Week comes to a close, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible families, community members, businesses, and organizations who helped make this week so special for our Eastern Elementary staff. Your generosity, kindness, and support reminded our staff just how appreciated they truly are.

A very special thank you goes to Michelle McDonald, an amazing parent volunteer, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help secure countless donations for our staff throughout the past few weeks. Your dedication and support mean more than words can express.

We would also like to sincerely thank all of the individuals, families, businesses, and organizations who generously donated meals, treats, drinks, experiences, and refreshments for our staff throughout the week. Thank you to the Rozak Family for donating Jimmy John’s subs, Ellsworth Electric Inc. for providing a delicious Brooke’s House breakfast, Steven Seaward and NPCFF Soccer Club for donating pizza for the entire staff, the Kusuma Family for donating two beautiful sushi platters, Jersey Mike’s for donating subs for the staff, Homerun Donuts for sweet treats, Samantha Turner, Realtor, for donating 160 Krumpe’s donuts, Cannon Coffee for donating their deliciously brewed coffee, Hicksville BBQ for serving an amazing BBQ lunch, Dracula’s for donating pizza and appetizers, Chick-fil-A for donating a 200-count nugget platter, Takito’s for donating three fulfilling lunch trays, Rocky’s for donating their classic pizzas, and Branded Bean Coffee for stopping by and allowing teachers to enjoy a fresh latte, matcha, or lemonade to start the day. We would also like to give a special thank you to our Assistant Principal, Gavin Myers, for preparing a homemade breakfast to help us finish out the week feeling appreciated and cared for. In addition, thank you to Frank Barr for bringing his adorable baby goats for staff members to cuddle and enjoy — such a fun and memorable surprise that brought so many smiles to our building!

We are also incredibly thankful to the many local businesses that donated items for our daily staff raffles. Thank you to The Broad Axe, Brick Tavern, Krumpe’s, Poke & Sushi, Interchange Tiki, and BJ’s Restaurant for generously supporting our staff through restaurant gift card donations. We would also like to recognize and thank the talented local photographers and small businesses who contributed raffle prizes, including Simply Pricilla Photography, Just Wright Photography, A.D. Photography, Bayleigh Bucher Photography, Caleigh Christine Photography, Nahla Mae Salon, Le's Beauty Salon, and Framework Salon.

Most importantly, we want to thank our incredible Eastern Elementary staff. Thank you for the love, dedication, patience, and hard work you pour into our students every single day. Your impact reaches far beyond the classroom, and we are so grateful for everything you do to support, encourage, and inspire our students and families. This week was just a small way to celebrate the tremendous difference you make each and every day.

Thank you all again for supporting and celebrating our staff in such meaningful ways. Your generosity helped make our staff feel valued, appreciated, and loved throughout the entire week. Eastern Elementary is so fortunate to have such an incredible community behind us!
