October Staff Member of the Month! 🎉

We are excited to recognize Mr. Mowry, one of our Connections teachers, as Eastern Elementary’s October Staff Member of the Month! 🎉

Since joining Eastern, Mr. Mowry has jumped in with an open heart, a growth mindset, and an incredible commitment to his students. He approaches every day with a clean slate, meeting challenges with patience, compassion, and positivity while helping his students learn to respect themselves, one another, their staff, and their classroom community.

Mr. Mowry constantly reflects, grows, shares with his team, and advocates for his students. His dedication to building strong relationships and creating a supportive environment has already made a tremendous impact at Eastern.

We are incredibly lucky to have him as part of the Eastern family!

🦅 **Eastern shows up!** 💚💛

A HUGE shoutout to **Mr. Secrest** for the incredible work he put into making the WCPS Elementary Cross Country Run a success! From hours of preparation and bringing his own equipment to create a true race-day experience, to arriving at **6:00 AM Saturday and staying past 2:00 PM**, he went above and beyond to make this an unforgettable experience for kids!

And it takes a team! Thank you to **Ms. Jojo**, our Community Schools team, **Mrs. Eby, Mrs. Martinez, and Mrs. Blanco**, and **Mrs. Toussaint, Mrs. D’Elia, Mr. Schaper, Ms. Patterson, Mr. Wetzel, and Mrs. Carbaugh** for giving their time to help make the day such a success!

🦅💚 Welcome Back, Eastern Eagles! 💛🦅

The countdown to a new school year is on, and we can't wait to welcome our students and families back to Eastern Elementary!

As we begin another year together, we look forward to partnering with our families to create a school where every child is known, challenged, and supported. We know the best school years happen when home and school work together, and we're excited for all that's ahead.

📚 Back to School Night

🗓 Thursday, August 20

🕓 4:00–4:45 PM – Eastern Elementary Families

🕟 4:00-5:00 PM – RAMPS Families

Back to School Night is a great opportunity to:
✅ Meet your child's teacher
✅ Visit classrooms
✅ Learn about the year ahead
✅ Explore our Title I program and family resources
✅ Connect with our Eastern community

Thanks to our Title I Program, all school supplies are provided for every Eastern student. Families only need to provide a backpack and, if your child packs lunch, a lunchbox. Plus, breakfast and lunch are free for all students!
