🅂 — STAY ALERT
Stay aware of your surroundings and listen carefully to the adults guiding you during arrival and dismissal.

🅰️ — ALWAYS USE DESIGNATED AREAS
Use the designated walkways, crossing areas, and waiting zones. Please do not walk or stand in areas that are not designated for students and families.

🅵 — FIND & USE THE SAFEST PATH
Use the same safe walking path each day and follow the directions provided by school staff.

🅴 — EVERYONE GETS HOME SAFE
When students, families, drivers, and staff work together, **everyone gets home safely!** ❤️

🚗 **Families, please help us by:**
• Following staff directions
• Using designated drop-off and pick-up areas
• Staying alert and avoiding distractions
• Watching for students and pedestrians
• Being patient—safety comes before speed!

Reminder- Friday, September 4th is also a 2- hour early release. Dismissal begins at 1:00pm!

🎉 What a GREAT first week at Potomac Heights Elementary! 🎉

We officially wrapped up our first week of the 2026–2027 school year, and we couldn’t be more excited about the year ahead! 💙

A HUGE thank you to our students, parents, and staff for making our first week such a success! We know that this year has brought some new procedures, routines, and expectations, and we recognize that there have been a few hiccups along the way. We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and flexibility as we work together to establish our new routines and find our rhythm.

Most importantly, we saw so many amazing things happening in classrooms across Potomac Heights! 📚✨ Our teachers were working hard to create engaging learning experiences, and our students were busy learning, exploring, and growing!

We are so grateful to have such an amazing school community and look forward to continuing to work alongside our families throughout the school year. Together, we are going to make it a great one! 💛

Good morning, PHE Parents!

If your student was invited to participate in Dragon’s Quest (Extended Learning), please remember to return their registration form as soon as possible.

I will be sending home club selection forms beginning Monday, August 31st. Please note that in order for your student to select the clubs that interest them most, I must have confirmation that they will be attending in the form of a completed registration form.

If I have not received a completed registration form, your student will not be able to select their preferred clubs and will instead be placed in clubs based on availability.

Thank you for your prompt attention and understanding! We are excited to offer these extended learning opportunities to our Dragons!

This is a Fundraiser for Marshall Street School. PHE is spreading the word. More information can be found below:

The Owls Nest Greenhouse welcomes everyone back with our annual Mum Sale. Add some fall color to your outdoor decor with our big beautiful 9" mums. All proceeds go back into our program so our students can learn valuable job and life skills.

Reminder: Send in your student's form for their FREE SOAR-a-Thon t-shirt by Friday, August 28th! Prefer to submit online? Click here:

Please complete one form for each child and indicate their t-shirt size. Shirts will be provided on the day of the SOAR-a-Thon, Monday, September 28. If you have any questions, please contact your PTO at [email protected].

If you would like to attend the 9:00 AM Time Capsule Opening Ceremony, please RSVP to Alex Metral, Community School Manager, at [email protected] by Friday, August 28, 2026.

To ensure we follow our school safety procedures, required visitor paperwork must be completed and submitted in advance for anyone attending the ceremony.

Thank you in advance for helping us make this a special celebration of Potomac Heights Elementary’s history!

Can’t attend the ceremony? The time capsule artifacts will also be available for the public to view from 2:00–3:00 PM. We hope you’ll be able to join us!
