Veteran Ventures Program This course will provide the fundamentals to enable you to take an idea and create all the essential elements required to launch a new business.

All VLV & VVP alumni, current and prospective students, as well as instructors and mentors, are encouraged to use this space as a forum to share best practices in launching and sustaining a business venture. Veterans Launching Ventures Program Overview:

Course Description:
A key to being a successful entrepreneur is the ability to start and operate one's own business. The process will provide you

with the tools you need to address the following topics:
- What business do you want to start?
- Who are your customers and how do you reach them?
- How do you finance your business and manage your money?
- How do you operate the business effectively?
- How do you manage the business for growth?
- How do you pull together the plan to make it happen? Course Objectives:
The objective of this ten-week online course is to teach students everything they need in order to start and maintain their own small business. Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Find and evaluate opportunities to start a business
- Understand the components of a business plan
- Analyze competitive advantage
- Choose a market segment and research it.
- Develop a marketing plan
- Understand key selling principles
- Create financial statements.
- Identify sources of capital for businesses.
- Manage and forecast cash flows effectively.
- Choose the appropriate legal structure for a business
- Understand the significance of operations in a business
- Use technology to benefit a business.
- Recruit, manage, and motivate employees.

Time is flying, and Spring Cohort #41 is right around the corner. Please help us spread the word.

During Cohort #40, we launched a new pilot series called Innovation, designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs refine and strengthen their business ideas. This course serves as a precursor to our main Business Planning Course and helps participants build a strong idea before moving forward.
