Our student interns are hard at work creating rustic farmhouse signs to help us prepare for an upcoming workshop! This workshop will be open to the community and will teach you how to make your own sign using real pallets and laser cutters. Stay tuned for more details coming within the next few weeks!

Our interns are successfully pushing the limits of the X Tool P2 conveyor pass-through system by engraving an 8-foot backlit acrylic mirror sign for our new Coral Lab entrance! This sign will be mounted above the display screen on the blue wall.

Watch to see how they started with a small mock-up and how the sign will look when illuminated by multi-hue lightbulbs from behind. Next up: building the custom enclosure for it to fit in. Stay tuned for more updates!

10 students have bern hard at work in the Makerspace, building a rocket to compete in the American Rocketry Challenge! Their design will be put to the test in three trials, judged by the National Association of Rocketry. The first round was scheduled for this past weekend but was canceled due to high winds—giving them extra time to fine-tune their rocket.

Wishing them the best of luck as they prepare for launch! 🚀✨

One of our community members found this keyboard on the side of the road during junk night. When they took it home and plugged it in, everything worked—except for a couple of keys. So, they brought it to the Makerspace, and with the help of a few community members, the problem was quickly fixed, saving this keyboard from the landfill!

Curious about what the Makerspace is all about?

We’re open to the public most Wednesday evenings from 5–8 PM, September through June—no membership required! Wednesday nights are for ages 16 and up (those 16 and 17 need a guardian’s signed permission slip).

Stop by to check out the space, bring a project to work on, or see what others are creating. Have something that needs fixing? A community member might be able to help!

A huge shoutout to these three for fine-tuning our new screen printing station! They don’t know it yet, but more equipment is on the way—so keep up the great work! We truly appreciate it.

This setup will be a game-changer for our Maker Camp this summer!

Maker Camp is open to kids ages 9-12—reach out if you’re interested!
