Congratulations to Chief Sean Farrell on being sworn in as the new Rutherford Police Chief! Chief Farrell follows in the extraordinary footsteps of Chief John Russo.

A HUGE congratulations to Chief Russo, a police officer since 1999, a former President of the Bergen County Chief's Association, a former President of the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, a former Chief Liaison to the Bergen County Rapid Deployment Force (during a time filled with civil unrest), a graduate of the 268th Session of the F.B.I. National Academy, a graduate of NJSACOP West Point Command and Leadership, and a NJSACOP Accredited Chief Executive.

Best of luck on all his future endeavors to Chief Russo and the association looks forward to working with Chief Sean Farrell!

Congratulations to Chief Robert Chamberlain on his retirement from the Tenafly Police Department! Chief Chamberlain has been not only a fixture in Tenafly but a huge asset to the association and a past president of the BCPCA! Chief Chamberlain is extremely active in our association helping to organize fundraising events, head of committees, and the definition of a gentleman and a professional.

Thank you, Chief Chamberlain. Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement. Thank you for your leadership, commitment, and everything you’ve done for Tenafly and our association!!!

We are so thrilled to congratulate Chief James Domville on his retirement from the Cresskill Police Department! Chief Domville has been a dedicated member of our association and executive board. His contributions to our association are many; he is a dedicated and appreciated member and above all, a true gentleman and mentor to many in our community. Congratulations and best of luck in your retirement!!!!

Congratulations to Edward Riedel of the Saddle River Police Department on his promotion to Chief of Police! Members of our association attended his swearing in ceremony. We look forward to welcoming Chief Riedel into our association!!

Our association cherishes our external partners. Duck Town Tavern in Atlantic City NJ and Caesars Hotel and Casino are partners who have supported our organization for years. During the annual Police Chiefs Conference, our association recognized Jordan and John, owners of Duck Town Tavern and James Marota from Caesars Hotel and Entertainment for their hospitality and generosity!

Congratulations to Chief Jason Cosgriff (Saddle River PD) on his well deserved retirement after 28 years of service! A group of chiefs (both active and retired) from our association joined Chief Cosgriff at his clap out today at Saddle River Police HQ. Best wishes for a long and relaxing retirement!!!!

At today’s active chiefs meeting, Chief Dennis Rivelli (East Rutherford PD) and Chief Mark Savino (Emerson PD) were awarded the Chiefs Achievement Award. This award is bestowed upon chiefs who exhibit dedication to public service and commitment to our organization and the law enforcement community as a whole. Congratulations to Chief Rivelli and Chief Savino on a well deserved recognition!

This morning, our association along with the Bergen County PBA Conference hosted the annual Police Memorial Service at the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute. It is a moving reminder of the officers who gave everything to keep our communities safe. We honor their memory today, but we carry their service and sacrifice with us every single day.

The 43rd Annual Chief Jack Murphy Memorial Golf Outing is Monday September 21, 2026 at White Beeches Golf and Country Club.

This outing supports the Bergen County Police Chief foundation, a 501(C)(3)nonprofit corporation support supporting in needs of active and retired US military personnel and Bergen County and their families.
