Question: Can girls be as equally good as guys at any form of martial arts?

So a new guy transferred into my dojo today and during break i decided to spar a friend of mine which 3 ranks above me. So he was more skilled after sparring the guy walks up to me and says, "I dont know why girls even bother coming to classes they'll never be as good as a guy" I looked down at his belt and he was a transitional rank before me. I can so take him. So next sparring session he's my new challenge.
