Bergen Science Challenge The Bergen Science Challenge is middle school science fair. Students from grades 6th to 8th can compete for awards. Science is dynamic field of study!!

The Bergen Science Challenge is a local science fair hosted by the Bergen County Academies. This is the first year that BCA is hosting this science fair, and it will be limited to the first 100 applicants with complete registration materials. This fair is open to middle school students in grades 6 to 8 in Bergen County, NJ. Students in this science fair will create an original project which will be based on the scientific method and will add knowledge to the field of science. Students can create a project in math, biology, chemistry, and physics. Students in all categories will be awarded prizes. However, the top finalists will be eligible to apply to take part in the Broadcom Masters, where they will compete for $25,000. This competition will allow students to explore science in a way that this different than conventional science classes. Students will experience using a hands on approach. Are you ready to be a scientist? Will you be able to enter the realm of science? The BCA Science Challenge was started by a group of research students along with their research teachers, Mrs. Donna Leonardi and Ms. Rachael Stott. This group of students had a strong interest in spreading the love of science to middle school students. The research that they did at BCA has greatly affected each and everyone, and now they wanted to spread their passion and knowledge of science. And, there is no better way of expressing this than starting a nationally recognized science fair at BCA for middle school students. Where the world ceases to be the scene of our personal hopes and wishes, where we face it as free beings admiring, asking and observing, there we enter the realm of Art and Science.

The Broadcom Masters is a national middle school science fair, which is brought to you by the Society for Science & the Public. Students at the Broadcom Masters can compete for various prizes, including $25,000. However, students can only attend this event is they compete in their local or regional SSP-affiliated science fair. Highlights of last year's Broadcom Masters can be seen here.
