Tax season is prime time for phone scams....beware, and if you can spare 2 minutes - help stop them.....all you've got to do is email the phone # that called you to IRS.

I know, they still haven't processed your 2020 return....but that's a different department 🤨

Tax Tip 2022-15, January 27, 2022 — With the new tax season starting this week, the IRS reminds taxpayers to be aware that criminals continue to make aggressive calls posing as IRS agents in hopes of stealing taxpayer money or personal information.

Not sure if it's what's going on in the country, with my clients, or the fact that my own daughter is getting closer to college age, but I am ALL OVER this issue lately. My fav line from this article:

“ 'One way to help manage the debt burden,' she said, was to be conservative with loans in the first place."

A stronger economy makes it more likely that graduates will be able to find jobs and meet their loan payments, but there are reasons to be cautious.

That first sentence should read "now that tax time has passed AND YOUR ADVISER HAS HAD A RESTFUL VACATION" :)
Otherwise, very sound advice!

This is truly a heartbreaking story. Not just about the MyRA. More. This statement "The cabinet is stacked with millionaires while Americans sitting on the sidelines of asset building are being told they are on their own" is so true, unacceptable and so easily fixable if we get our elected officials (all parties) to do their job and work together for the good of the people. Imagine?!? Then maybe all could enjoy the wealth this great nation produces.

The failure of the Obama-era savings program shows what both parties get wrong about inequality.
