BEA Eagles Golf Match Recap

LHAC Golf Match – August 26, 2026
Skytop Mountain Golf Club

It was a great day for golf at Skytop Mountain Golf Club, with partly cloudy skies and light winds gusting up to 10 mph.
The Eagles gave it everything they had but came up short in the five-team LHAC match. BEA finished 1-3 on the day, defeating Penns Valley while falling to Bellefonte, PO, and Clearfield.

Bellefonte freshman phenom Jacob Davis took medalist honors with an impressive 77.

The Eagles battled hard throughout the day and will look to bounce back in their next match.

Girls Golf yesterday participated in a match at Nittany Country Club that was hosted by Bellefonte. Bellwood-Antis was also competing. We had two young ladies in the match as Bridget Dechow shot a 71 and Maelee Yoder shot at 72.

Update on Coach Rhoades. I just heard from one of his relatives and I’m allowed to share that he has a surgical procedure coming up on Thursday, but he definitely needs your continued prayers. They finally have some answers. Now they just need some good handy work by the doctors and some good work by the big guy upstairs.

Good morning. Our Hall of Fame wrestling coach, Dick Rhoades, needs your prayers. He is currently in the Williamsport UPMC hospital with a very serious medical condition. When I can update everyone with the information I will do so.

Today our Girls' Golf was scheduled to participate in a match hosted by Bedford. Yesterday we received word that it was moved to the course at the Bedford Springs Resort. This course is ranked as the #1 public course is PA!!! Unfortunately due to sickness and other commitments we only had one golfer participate, Bridget Dechow. Being the lone Eagle on the course didn't intimidate Bridget as she went out and shot a nine hole score of 51, which was the lowest score of the day. She becomes the first female golfer in BEA history to be low scorer in an official PIAA match. Congratulations, Bridget.
