From sharing meals together to taking a ferry ride across the Potomac River to Alexandria, Virginia, where the team participated in a fun scavenger hunt, every experience created an opportunity to connect beyond the workplace.

You’ll learn more about someone by having fun with them for an hour than you will in a year’s worth of meetings.

Last month, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mentoring Male Teens in the Hood to the Piedmont Learning Center! 🌱🐝

We kicked off the day with a fun and educational birdwatching hike, where everyone had the opportunity to learn how to use binoculars and discover different bird species. From there, we painted our new picnic bench, planted trees in our microforest, and got hands-on experience learning about our honeybees. 🐦🌳🐝

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for our Happy Hour event last week!

We loved welcoming both familiar faces and new guests for an afternoon surrounded by nature at the Piedmont Learning Center. From exploring the center and creating artwork to building meaningful connections over food and drinks, it was a wonderful evening filled with community, laughter, and fun.

At the Piedmont Learning Center, we're passionate about bringing people together to learn, explore, and experience the wonders of the natural world, both on our grounds and beyond.

This video was captured during a visit to one of our client sites, where participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of beekeeping. From inspecting a live hive to harvesting fresh honey, it was an unforgettable hands-on learning experience.

We had a great day working with the Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake at their Senior Leadership Kickoff Retreat! It was a fun day filled with a great lunch catered by Mission BBQ, reflection on their stellar history that dates back to 1919, some good ole competition, and the Art Deco Experience where the team and our amazing artist Fidel Carey Realmo created a lovely mosaic that is now hanging in their headquarters.

Thank you Scott Hollingsworth and Beverly Freda for your vision and assistance in making this a very successful and special event.

Earlier this Spring, the lovely ladies from the I AM ME PROJECT visited the Piedmont Learning Center for a day of fun, outdoor adventures, reconnection to nature, and the building of their team. They went on our Historic Hike through Gwynn Oak Park to learn about the amazing history of this area, painted bee boxes for our Apiary, met the chickens, and did a cookout at our campfire.
