💙🤍 Honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day 🤍💙
Today, October 13, we recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day
An opportunity to learn about and honor the rich histories, cultures, traditions and contributions of Indigenous peoples.
At Guthrie Public Schools, we believe learning from history helps us better understand one another and the world around us. Today is a reminder to listen, learn, and celebrate the many Indigenous communities whose stories and contributions are an important part of our shared history.💙🤍

💙🤍 You Matter, Guthrie! 🤍💙
Today is World Mental Health Day
A reminder that taking care of our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health.
A kind word, a listening ear, or simply letting someone know they’re not alone can make a difference. Let’s continue building a Guthrie school community where students and staff feel seen, supported, and valued.
💙 It’s okay to ask for help.
🤍 It’s okay to talk about how you’re feeling.
💙 And it’s okay to take care of yourself.
Let’s look out for one another, today and every day. 💙🤍

Here is an update on the Wrestling Building progress. The paint crews are making their way through the building followed by the flooring crews. The lockers were installed last week and all of the wall tile is installed. While the interior finishes are continuing, the outside work now turns to sidewalks along with finishing the drainage system that has been designed to improve water flow and greatly reduce the runoff that has historically flooded our tennis courts. The project is still on schedule to be finished late this month.

We know many of our parents have been concerned about the timing of events today at Guthrie Junior High. Because this has been an ongoing law enforcement investigation, we have not been able to share with you some of the timeline of events until now. This press release was sent out just a few minutes ago from the Guthrie Police Department. Please know that our staff and law enforcement in our community came together very quickly to make sure our students were safe at all times. Such measures will always be our first priority.

🔐💙 Stay Safe Online! 💙🔐
October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month!
It’s a great time to remind our students, staff, and families to think before they click, use strong passwords and protect their personal information.
A little awareness can go a long way toward keeping our Guthrie Public Schools community safe, online and off! 💙🤍
