Want hitters to learn how to use their body to create the swing instead of relying on their arms? Give this drill a try.

Start with your back foot and back elbow touching the L-screen. As you swing, focus on turning your body and letting that rotation move the barrel into the zone.

The goal is simple: get to contact without letting the barrel touch the screen.

This drill helps hitters:

✓ Create a more compact swing
✓ Stay connected throughout the swing
✓ Learn to rotate instead of reaching with the arms
✓ Use the lower half and torso to drive the barrel
✓ Feel what a connected swing should actually feel like

If the barrel hits the screen, you’re likely disconnecting and letting the arms take over.

Clear the screen and get to contact? You’re learning to let the body move the barrel.

Connection → Rotation → Contact.
