Members, families, supporters and community members:

These are the 2026 Chapter T-Shirts! All FFA members are asked to purchase one of these shirts so that it will be here BEFORE the October Meeting (Week of October 12th)! Please order at least two weeks before that week so that we can have everyone in their shirts for the group photo!

Those that have ordered shirts as of last week, they will be arriving in time for the Guthrie County Fair!

We have more exciting news for the members of our chapter!

Laurin Davis was selected to be a member of the National FFA Band at the 99th Annual National FFA Convention and Expo! We are beyond proud of this accomplishment for her and are excited to watch her perform in October! Congratulations Laurin!

‼ Attention Exhibitors ‼

IF you plan on having ANY fitters come for the Guthrie County Fair from any other county, you will need to have the list of the names and chapters/clubs and county to the Extension Office by 8/25 at 4:30 PM!

If any others on that aren't on list show up to fit after this deadline that were not given to the office will not be allowed to fit in any capacity!

2026 Fairbook states: Exhibitors are to perform their own fitting and grooming of all livestock. Only immediate family members or other active Iowa 4-H/FFA members, superintendents or leaders may give assistance. Family members are defined as: mom, dad, stepparent or legal guardian, grandparent, brother, sister or step-sibling.

From State Fair to National Recognition!

Congratulations to our American Degree Recipients this year!

The requirements to earn the American FFA Degree are set forth in the National FFA Constitution. To be eligible to receive the American FFA Degree, members must meet qualifications such as receiving a State FFA Degree, holding active membership for the past three years, completing secondary instruction in an agricultural education program and operating an outstanding supervised agricultural experience program. Community service, leadership abilities and outstanding scholastic achievement are also required.

The second day of the Iowa State Fair started off the same, damp, and Dean Ave flooding, but it ended the same way as yesterday for our members showing!

Creighton Suhr placed 4th in his class today receiving a purple
Blaire Robson received a blue in her class
Rylee Robson placed 4th in her class with her Purebred Dorset receiving a purple and received a blue with her crossbred ewe

🐖Swine Results🐖
Lilly Rochholz received three blues today for her crossbred swine
C**t Wilson got penned 7th in his classes today receiving two blues

Happy first official day of the Iowa State Fair to those who celebrate! Oh man, was it just a beautiful way to start out the ISF, right? Our FFA members and community have something to celebrate after the AWESOME day they had regardless of how it started!

Cash Suhr received a blue and a purple with his entries in the market classes
Creighton Suhr received 3rd Overall Market Ewe Lamb

🐖Swine Results🐖
Lily Rochholz participated in the Purebred Duroc class
Alli Wiers received all blues for her Purebred Poland China entries today
C**t Wilson received a blue with his gilt and 1st in class and 6th overall with his carcass entry, Forest

Tatum Brittain received 3rd in the aged mare class and a blue in showmanship

Stella Largent received 2nd in her class for her Bull entry & 3rd in class for her Angus heifer
Blair Brown received 2nd in class for her Angus heifer
Gracie Hodges received 4th in class for her Angus heifer
Blake Hodges received 2nd in his class for his Foundation Simmental
Hunter Kress received Reserve Champion in the AOB Cow/Calf Division, and Champion Maintainer Heifer and 4th Overall Breeding Heifer

‼️ This advisor walked approximately 9,000 steps before 12:00 PM and took WAY too many photos of the members to count and still didn’t get to catch all of them in the ring. ‼️

It's here, it's packed full of information and dates, and packed full of a busy month of July photos! Congratulations to our Livestock Evaluation Teams for their success over the summer, and good luck to our All-Iowa, Iowa State Fair and Guthrie County Fair Exhibitors in the upcoming month!!
