We smile in the hallway. We show up early. We stay late. And we tell ourselves, “I don’t want to bother anyone.”

But somewhere along the way, we started believing that needing help means being a burden.

Someone who saw potential before it showed up.
Someone who stayed patient on the day it would have been easier not to.
Someone who said "you can" when you weren't sure.

On World Teachers' Day, I'm thinking about the educators who were behind me, and the ones I get to stand beside now. 💛

I've made plenty of decisions in my career that I'd make differently today. And I've learned to see that as a sign of growth, not a mistake.

This quote lives in my head every school year. Do the best you can until you know better. Then do better.

Educators, you don't need to be perfect. You did the best you could with what you knew. Now you know more. So do better, and be gentle with yourself while you do.
