Stopped by today to check out the progress on the field and track project at MCHS!

The field is complete and has officially passed state inspection! The track is still under construction but is getting very close to being finished. There are just a few more yards of rubber to install, and then the lines can be painted.

The fencing is still being fabricated and installed, with a little paving work remaining around the bathrooms in the back. The field event areas, pads, and rubber are also almost complete.

We’re only a few weeks away from having this entire project finished and ready for our students and athletes!

Ribbon Cutting — September 4th at 6:30 PM

Went and checked on the progress of the fields today, and the crews are working hard to get everything finished on time. They’re putting in the hours—even working weekends and at night when needed—to make sure the field is ready to be played on August 28th!
New side walks are being poured and fences are ready to be installed-no more loose wobbly fence on the home side! After everything is glued and in place. The sand and coolant will be spread out onto the field.

The ribbon cutting will be August 28th at 6:30 PM. We’re getting close! Ready to get this project finished, inspected, and officially turned over to the Indians! ❤️💙

When I began my campaign in 2020, I made safety my primary focus.

I made one promise: to do everything I could to make and keep District 3 schools—and the entire MCSS system—a safe place for our students, teachers, and staff.

When I was elected, we had 13 School Resource Officers (SROs) serving our schools. Today, we have 26 SROs and 2 SRO Sergeants working every day to protect and build relationships with our students and staff.

SROs are so much more than “cops in the schools.” They are a bridge between our schools and our community. They build relationships with students, step into classrooms to see our teachers and students in action, encourage our kids, and hold them accountable when needed.

To every one of our SROs and SRO Sergeants—thank you! I appreciate the work you do every single day, and I am grateful for the partnership between MCSS and MCSO as we continue working together to keep our schools safe.
