Calling all young scientists! It’s time to put on your lab coats and get ready for a fun morning of discovery at the Learn With Miss Laura Annual Science Fair! 🌟

💲 Entry Fee: $5 donation to help cover awards and supplies
This exciting event is open to homeschooling families with children ages 5–13 who love to explore, experiment, and create. Whether your child wants to build a volcano, study the stars, or design a cool experiment, this is their chance to shine and share their curiosity with others!

STAAR testing begins this week, and many of our students are feeling nervous. That’s completely normal. Big tests can feel overwhelming, but our children are capable, prepared, and stronger than they think.
Parents, your voice is powerful. Your calm can become their calm.
You might remind your child:
“This test is just one moment—it doesn’t define who you are.”
“Do your best, take your time, and trust what you know.”
“It’s okay to feel nervous. That means you care.”
“I am proud of you no matter what.”
“Take a deep breath. You’ve got this.”
Let’s lift up our local district, our teachers, and especially our students this week.
May our classrooms be filled with peace, confidence, focus, and encouragement.
They are more than a score. They are learners, leaders, and bright lights in our community.

Today during a tutoring session with a first grader, I paused our lesson for a moment so he could watch history being made.
Reading and phonics are important, but so is understanding the world around us and recognizing significant moments when they happen.
Sometimes the best lesson is simply paying attention.
