Last week, our 6th–8th grade artists in Mrs. Trigg’s and Mrs. McCay’s classes, put their creativity to work in more ways than one! 🎨

Students explored Pop Art inspired by Andy Warhol, transforming everyday candy wrappers and soda cans into bold, colorful artwork while learning about color, shape, line, value, cropping, composition, and contrast. They also learned how Warhol challenged traditional ideas about what could be considered art and discovered that even everyday objects can become something creative and meaningful!

They continued thinking outside the box—literally 📦—by working with an unconventional art medium: cardboard! Students used cardboard to create their own unique pieces, showing that art can be made from just about anything.

We loved seeing their creativity and BIG artistic choices shine! ✨🧡💙

🇪🇸 A little glimpse into Spanish class at BVMS!

From first-year learners to our 8th graders, students have been putting their Spanish skills into practice in plenty of fun ways. Our 8th graders used the verb ser to form sentences and interview classmates about their birthdays, personalities, and where they’re from. Seventh graders learned the popular Spanish children’s song Los Pollitos Dicen and brought a class story to life through role-play, while our 6th graders got competitive with a Blooket vocabulary review and practiced the chocolate hand game!

Different grade levels, different activities, and lots of Spanish in action. 🇪🇸👏
