SMPDDβs Area Agency on Aging (AAA) held its Public Hearing to gather community feedback and discuss the growing needs of older adults across our 15-county service area. Topics included transportation barriers in rural communities, healthcare and financial stability, nutrition and in-home services, caregiver support, and expanding access to programs such as SHIP Medicare counseling and Alzheimerβs Disease support services.
Community input from our public hearings, advisory councils, provider reports, and demographic data helps guide SMPDD AAAβs goals and priorities for the upcoming year as we continue working to support older adults in aging safely and independently in their communities ππ‘π
