Reading and writing state tests ✅✅ and the kids ROCKED them! They were rewarded with a “Board Out of Our Mind” day and let’s just say… best day ever!!! They loved bringing their favorite board games, learning new games, and overall just having a blast together. I loved playing the games too! So much sweet laughter and fun with NO screens! ❤️

It’s time for the first update for our fundraiser leaderboard! We’ve got close races in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade between second and third places! Currently, third grade is in the lead having raised $1470 but 1st is in close second with $1458 raised. In pre-K Mrs. Rushing is off to a strong start and wants to hold her title from the Fall! Mrs. McGuffee’s class is in it to win it and has a strong lead over Mrs. Tiner’s class. Will Mrs. Tiner’s class answer the challenge? Oh, Miss Gunter… Miss Boggess‘s class has a $4 lead on your class… Care to take her place in third?Which class will be first raise $1000? Which underdog will stage a come from behind win? And the big question… How do Mrs. Hisaw and Miss Speed feel about being a meme???

Well we have to have fun sometimes! 🤪 Valentines Party success! Thank you so much to the parents who contributed to the party and also for allowing me the privilege to teach and love these hilarious kiddos. Kindergarten Mardi Gras parade tomorrow!

February is off to a strong start in our classroom! Students have been actively building research and informational reading skills as they explored the Winter Olympics and global games. Our study of Greek mythology strengthened reading comprehension and critical thinking as students learned about various gods and goddesses and their roles in traditional myths. Through literacy centers, students practiced collaboration, vocabulary development, and independent reading and writing skills. To celebrate a week of hard work, our class also enjoyed a king cake treat generously donated by the O’Berry family. We are so grateful for their kindness and continued support!

First day back! It was fun surprising the kids with activities reinforcing expectations, setting goals, and building relationships 🥰

Remember to wear your blue & orange GSD spirit wear tomorrow! We’re going to try to catch the bus as they drive by and wave and cheer on our Admirals as they head to Starkville for the State Championship! Hopefully our letters of encouragement will put an even bigger smile on their faces this weekend!

Congratulations to our sweet Kaylee and Luna! Both had the most lessons passed in iReady reading AND 100% pass rate for November! We had a quite a few kiddos come SO close to winning our iReady reading challenge. I hope they enjoy their cookie decorating!
