Tonight, NJROTC had the honor and privilege to present the Colors at our home football game against Blount.

These kids weren’t alive when it happened, but for many of us 9/11 is burned into our brain and the wound still very much feels new.

We could not be more proud of our Cadets. They worked hard on their uniforms and seemed to really understand and feel the gravity of this evening as we solemnly remembered that day 25 years ago.

But while we are proud of our kids, this evening was all about the men and women who unnecessarily lost their lives on that day. And as a result the thousands of service members who willingly paid the ultimate sacrifice in Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom.

Let us never forget.

**GSHS NJROTC - Building Character, Communication, and Tomorrow’s Leaders!**

Today at Gulf Shores High School, our Cadets took part in a train-the-trainer session led by Ms. Jazmin Norris from Junior Achievement of Alabama as we launched JA Future Ready Leaders®!

Through this first-of-its-kind initiative at Gulf Shores City Schools, our Cadets are learning that leadership isn't just a title—it's about character, clear communication, and thoughtful decision-making in real-world scenarios.

After mastering these skills, our Cadets will be prepared to step into elementary classrooms to facilitate Junior Achievement lessons for Gulf Shores Elementary students, with plans to expand and train young students at other local schools across our community.

This exciting partnership reflects our commitment to bringing top-tier state and national resources directly to GSHS NJROTC — delivering hands-on instruction, work readiness, and authentic leadership training right here in our new state of the art faciltity.

Today we took the cadets to Naval Air Station Pensacola to visit the Naval Aviation Museum and watch the Blue Angels. After that we had a fabulous lunch at Lillian’s Pizza. 🍕 Thank you to their entire staff who fed 70 people no problem.

🇺🇸 OUR NEWEST UNITED STATES MARINE! 🇺🇸

Former Cadet Cody Rasmussen has officially earned the title: United States Marine!

After completing 13 weeks of Recruit Training at MCRD Parris Island, Cody is now at Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, learning essential combat fundamentals including rifle handling, patrolling, land navigation, combat lifesaving, and small-unit tactics.

Next, he moves on to Camp Lejeune for Marine Corps Combat Engineer School (MCES), where he will train in breaching, explosives and demolition, mine warfare, route clearance, and combat engineering operations.

Most people will never know what it took for Cody to get here but we promise you this…Cody is the man you want in this job. Pictured here with his family, we wish him a long and amazing career and we couldn't be more proud of his dedication and commitment. Semper Fi, Cody!

🇺🇸 HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO FORMER CADET RILEY DENNIS! 🇺🇸

Riley has just taken another massive step toward her dream of becoming an officer in the United States Army Medical Corps! She officially took the oath today—a milestone that means not only is her college fully covered, but she is actually being paid to attend.

Riley has fought relentlessly for every single inch of what she’s achieving, and seeing her hard work pay off like this is inspiring. We couldn't be more proud of her dedication, drive, and service.
