🌱 STEM Sprouts: Growing Curiosity Through Gardening & Food Education! πŸ”¬πŸ₯•πŸŒΏ

Last month, we had the opportunity to bring our STEM Sprouts training to the Childcare Resources Sky’s the Limit Conference in Birmingham!

Gardening and food education offer so many natural opportunities for young children to explore science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on learning. From planting seeds and observing how plants grow to measuring, counting, investigating foods, and asking β€œWhat happens if…?”—the garden can become an extension of the classroom. πŸŒ±πŸ”

During STEM Sprouts, early childhood educators explored practical, age-appropriate ways to:
🌻 Bring gardening into the learning environment
πŸ₯• Use local foods and taste-testing as learning experiences
πŸ”’ Incorporate counting, measuring, sorting, and comparing
πŸ”¬ Encourage observation, prediction, experimentation, and problem-solving
🌎 Help children make connections between food, farms, nature, and their own health

We loved sharing ideas educators can take back to their classrooms and use to help little learners plant, explore, taste, discover, and grow! πŸ’š
