5 days live-aboard the 46-foot ketch Boundless with Captain Jeff and crew.

Life aboard Boundless is entirely hands-on. Students take the wheel, raise the sails, drop anchors, and prepare meals for one another.

This is not a cruise - it is is a self development and life changing, life giving experience.

Not only does your teen is an active crew member from day one, but also a part of a family-style community on a greater journey together.

Learning covers navigation, meteorology, marine science, astronomy, solar and wind energy, leadership, journaling, and setting life goals - all woven into real seamanship skills and team-building.

Plus pre- and post-voyage sessions to prepare the group and integrate the experience.

$1,497 all-inclusive ~ meals, bunk, instruction, and materials. Payment plans available.

I’ve taken students aboard Boundless about 8 times. Each a different group, each a powerful way to live for these 5 days, from a sea perspective.

We are offering a sail for 6 young people this summer in Maine. Scholarships are made possible by one of our former parents - amazing opportunity, indeed.

There is a lot to sailing and when you are doing it with a sturdy Captain who knows the winds, the currents, the boat mechanics, young peoples’ ability to exceed their own expectations, real-life bold living occurs!

It’s hard to describe in words what Different Drum Sailing Adventures and CT Experiential Learning Center bring, but I will say - audacious, stupendous, meaningful, and yes, life-changing!

So - this August, I seek these young people - middle, high school and/or college age, to have such a time.

If you have teen and you know this person would benefit from being part of a caring community, team building, off screen, nature, fun in the water wind and sun, lobster bake, island traveling time, please have a look!

Yes, it is a quick turn around, but figure, I’d out put out to the Outliers one more time … as Captain Jeff always says, those meant to be aboard Boundless will be there.

Sail Maine this AUGUST with Different Drum Sailing Adventures!

Scholarships are available for students who apply to be part of this incredible experience ~ a few spots still available.

We (CELC) have now taken students to the Chesapeake Bay, Maine and the Bahamas aboard Boundless with Captain Jeff of Different Drum Sailing Adventures
This is real-life learning!

Students learn to "run" the boat, taking on all aspects from raising sails and setting anchor to navigating a course and cooking in the galley!

Sailing is at once incredibly peaceful and thrilling. Truth is present at all times. Moving via wind power necessitates working with physics and nature, remaining flexible, adaptable, courageous, and being ready for anything. It enlivens the spirit.

It is something to see how students take to the responsibilities aboard Boundless as they learn the skills needed to run the boat and notice what is important in life.
