It is our honor to recognize the life of Pat Rivas.

If you had the pleasure of meeting Pat, you knew her as someone who gave so much of herself to the children and families of our community.

As one of our providers for several decades, her dedication to caring for children was unwavering. Families depended on her every day, and her impact is everlasting.

Pat was not only a provider but also a foster parent who opened her heart and home to the children who needed it most. She always showed up for those in need, with a special ability to see past circumstances, recognize the person underneath the hardship, and offer unrivaled compassion.

She went above and beyond, again and again.

We are deeply grateful for everything Pat gave to our community. Her kindness, generosity, and care brought positive change to so many.

Rest peacefully, Pat. Thank you for loving our children, supporting our families, and giving so much back to our community. You will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. ❤️

Si usted tuvo el placer de conocer a Pat, la conoció como alguien que dio mucho de sí misma a los niños y las familias de nuestra comunidad.

This month, we are excited to introduce Sheila Chaudhary, our Child Development Resource Specialist and Child Passenger Safety Technician.

Sheila joined RCCS in July, 2018, and brings 12 years of experience in the Early Care and Education field. In her role, she supports children, families, and child care providers through child development services, resources, and guidance. As a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, she also helps families learn how to safely transport their children and properly use child safety seats. 🚗💙

Fun facts: Sheila loves spending time with her family and exploring new places. She is also a proud mom and enjoys making new memories and adventures with her family. 🌎👩‍👦

We’re grateful for Sheila’s years of dedication to RCCS and the care and knowledge she brings to the children and families in our community.

Now Hiring: Child Development Resource Specialist
River to Coast Children’s Services (RCCS) is seeking a full-time Child Development Resource Specialist (CDRS) to join our team and support the healthy development of young children, families, and child care providers in our community.

The CDRS plays an important role in coordinating developmental screenings for children birth through age five, providing families with developmental guidance and referrals, and supporting family child care providers through child development resources, technical assistance, and training. The position also works collaboratively with RCCS Case Managers to connect families with child care and supportive services and assists with provider recruitment and support through the Child Care Initiative Project (CCIP).

Pay: $28.00–$30.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, up to 37.5 hours per week
Requirements: Bilingual English/Spanish required; minimum 24 ECE/CD units and experience in Early Childhood Education/Child Development.

We are looking for a compassionate, organized professional who enjoys working directly with children, families, and child care providers and is committed to strengthening early childhood services in our community.

On a day like today, 50 years ago, a small group of community members received the good news that they would finally have an agency in West Sonoma County that would make a difference for families with children in this community. River Child Care officially received its articles of incorporation.
