We provided the children with valuable oral hygiene instruction and gave them the chance to experience sitting in a dental chair. Early dental education is essential for promoting good oral health habits, preventing dental problems, and alleviating dental fears. Buchanan County Public Schools is hosting a Public Surplus Tag Sale Series this spring.

Join us for surplus sales at five locations:

April 25 at Council High School
April 25 at Buchanan County Career & Technical Center - Silent Auction
May 16 at Grundy High School
May 23 at Twin Valley High School
May 30 at Hurley High School
Viewing is from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM, and each sale runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Surplus school equipment will be available at each location while inventory lasts, and inventory will vary by school.

All sales are final
Item warranties are neither given nor implied
Purchaser is responsible for removal of items
Items will be available for pick up on June 1, 2026

Today, Jobs for Virginia Graduates (JVG) students, Claire Griffey, Ayden Whited and Morgan Hagerman, competed in the JVG Ignite Competition in Radford, VA. Under the guidance of advisor Haley Wolford, the team presented YouthWave Marketing, a teen-led social media management business, to a panel of judges. Their hard work and innovation paid off, they won the competition and will now advance to represent Virginia at the Jobs for America’s Graduates National Career Development Conference in April in Salt Lake City, Utah!

In addition to their victory, each were also awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Radford University, recognizing their outstanding achievement and entrepreneurial excellence. Congratulations to these talented students on this incredible accomplishment!
