During science today, we were exploring the different properties of materials. The goal was to make a hat because they were stuck on an island with nothing but a swim suit and the materials from their lunch. We talked about how we wanted the hat to have the property of being stiff on the brim to cover the face, absorbent on the neck and head due to sweat, and the final property was to have a soft hat because who wants to wear an uncomfortable hat?! We tested each material to determine which had each property and then they got to building! The final photo is the models showing off their group’s hard work.
