πŸ§πŸ’™πŸ’› Different Directions, ONE TEAM! πŸ†

At this week’s GTE faculty meeting, our very own Heather Cottingham led an engaging team-building activity called β€œCompass Points” 🧭

North, South, East, or Westβ€”we discovered that we all think, communicate, and approach challenges differently, but those differences make us STRONGER together! πŸ’ͺ🏽

And the biggest takeaway? Just as we don’t all think or work alike, neither do our students! Every child learns differently, and great educators know the importance of being flexible, adapting, and meeting students where they are! ❀️

A HUGE Jaguar thank-you to Ms. Cottingham for reminding us that we don’t have to be the SAME to be on the SAME TEAM! πŸ†βœ¨

That’s how we stay on the SMOVE with Positive Attitudes and Powerful Actions! πŸ’™πŸ’›

Rocks, minerals, fossils, and soil came to life in Ms. Grant's class as her students transformed their classroom into an unforgettable Exhibit Museum for Rock Your School! πŸͺ¨πŸ’ŽπŸŒŽ
Her young scientists created rocks and minerals, collected fossils and soil samples, designed trifolds, and proudly shared their work with fellow third graders. Visitors explored the exhibits and learned so much.
What a celebration of creativity, curiosity, confidence, and student learning in action! πŸ”βœ¨

πŸŽ‚πŸ’™ SERVING OTHERS IS WHAT LEADERS DO! πŸ’™πŸŽ‚

Our Beta Club members put leadership into action today by creating 60 Birthday Boxes/Bags for children in our community! πŸŽ‰ Each one was filled with love and a little extra birthday joy.

This service project reminded our students that true leadership is about serving others, showing kindness, and lifting others up. πŸ’™

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this project possible! Your generosity gave our students the opportunity to experience the joy of giving back.

60 Birthday Boxes. 60 opportunities to spread joy. 60 reminders that kindness matters! πŸŽ‚πŸ’™

We are so proud of our Beta Club members and the leaders they are becoming! πŸΎπŸ’™

πŸ”₯πŸš’ Learning Fire Safety! πŸš’πŸ”₯

This week, our kindergarten and second-grade students had the opportunity to participate in an engaging fire safety demonstration with the Grovetown Fire Department! Our students learned important safety tips and enjoyed learning from the firefighters who serve our community.

We are incredibly thankful for the Grovetown Fire Department and their continued commitment to keeping our students, families, and community safe! β€οΈπŸ’™

There are so many families in our community who are struggling to put food on the table, and this month, you have the opportunity to help make a difference.
Our October service project is β€œSpooky to Be Hungry,” in partnership with Golden Harvest Food Bank. πŸŽƒπŸ§‘
For just $2, you can help provide a meal for a family, or you can donate canned food items. Every single donation, no matter how big or small, can make a difference.
If you’d like to donate canned goods, you are welcomed to drop off at the school.
Let’s come together and help make sure families in our community don’t have to go without. 🧑
Every $2. Every can. Every act of kindness matters.

πŸ’™ Happy National Instructional Coach Day! πŸ’›

Today we celebrate two incredible ladies who help keep GTE on the SMOVEβ€”our amazing Instructional Specialists, Ms. Perry and Dr. Williamson! 🐾

From collaborating with teachers and analyzing data to providing professional learning, modeling instruction, and offering encouragement, these ladies work tirelessly behind the scenes to help our teachers grow and our Jaguars succeed! πŸ“šβœ¨

Thank you for supporting, encouraging, empowering, and elevating our GTE family each and every day. We appreciate you more than you know! πŸ’™πŸ†πŸ’›

πŸˆπŸ“š GTE Jaguars, It’s Time to TOUCHDOWN FOR READING! πŸ’™πŸ’›

From October 7–22, Grovetown Elementary will compete against all 17 elementary schools in our district-wide Beanstack Touchdown for Reading Challenge!

Our goal is simple: READ β€’ LOG β€’ WIN! πŸ† Students in K–5 should read at least 20 minutes each day and record their true reading minutes in Beanstack. Pre-K students are welcome to join the fun too!

πŸ“– How to participate:

Log in to ClassLink and open Beanstack.
Select β€œLog Reading.”
Enter the minutes you actually read. If you can’t log that day, keep track on a paper reading log and enter your minutes later.
Keep reading and logging throughout the challengeβ€”our goal is at least 300 minutes per student!

🏈 First Down: 100 minutes
🏈 Second Down: 200 minutes
πŸ† Third Down: 300 minutes + earn a prize!

Most importantly, READ WITH INTEGRITY! We want GTE to win, but we want to win the right way. Every minute should represent real reading because the ultimate goal is to build stronger readers who LOVE to read. β€οΈπŸ“š

Every reader. Every minute. Every day. Let’s help GTE bring home the WIN! πŸ†πŸˆπŸ’™πŸ’›
