Out of more than 1,000 entries, our very own Ms. Johnston was selected as a winner of the Chick-fil-A Surprise & Delight Teacher Giveaway Basket! 🧺❤️

Chick-fil-A stopped by to shower her with love and recognize the incredible legacy of impact she leaves on her students and our school community every day.

What a fantastic first full week of school at Baker Place Elementary! 🦅✨

Behind all the smiles, seamless routines, and excited young learners is this incredible team right here. Our staff poured so much heart, energy, and dedication into making this week a huge success for our Eagles!

As we jump into the rest of the school year, our staff is centering our work around two distinct themes:

Join us at Baker Place Elementary this week for Parent Orientation! This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your student’s teacher, learn about classroom routines, and get all the essential information needed to ensure your child has a successful year.

⏰ Time: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. each night

🗓️ Grade-Level Schedule:
🍎 Monday, August 10th: Pre-K, Kindergarten, & 5th Grade
✏️ Tuesday, August 11th: 1st Grade & 4th Grade
📚 Thursday, August 13th: 2nd Grade & 3rd Grade

It’s time to celebrate a big milestone as our students take flight and learn to walk to class on their own! 🦅

Here is what parents and guardians need to know for the remainder of the week:

•Thursday, August 6th – 🎒 Allow your child to show you the way to their classroom! If they are up for it, walk only a portion of the way and let them take those proud, independent steps the rest of the way.

•Friday, August 7th – ❤️🤍💙 Students will begin walking to class on their own starting today! Show your school spirit by wearing red, white, and blue.

Don't worry—our wonderful Baker Place staff members will be stationed all throughout the hallways to guide students in the right direction and give a helping hand to anyone who needs a little extra support.

Let’s encourage our students as they step up, build confidence, and SOAR into a great school year! ✨

Today wasn't just the start of a new school year for our students—it was the very first day of their teaching careers for 5 wonderful new teachers joining our Eagle family: Ms. Johnston, Ms. Groves, Ms. Newsome, Ms. Hairston and Ms. Whitehead!

Starting a teaching journey is such a special milestone, and we are so honored and excited that these dedicated teachers chose to launch their careers here at BPE. They brought so much passion, heart, and fresh energy into their classrooms today, and we know they are going to do incredible things!

To our new FAB FIVE: Take a deep breath and celebrate all that you accomplished on Day 1! Year one is a big, exciting adventure, but remember that you are fully prepared, deeply valued, and surrounded by a school family that believes in you! We are standing right behind you every step of the way as you shape young minds. You've got this, and we couldn't be prouder to have you on our team!

It was so wonderful seeing all of our students back in the building today! Our hallways were filled with big smiles, happy reunions, and so much excitement as our Eagles kicked off the new school year ready to S.O.A.R.!

A giant THANK YOU to all of our parents and guardians for your grace, patience, and cooperation in the car line today. First-day traffic is always a bit hectic, but your help kept our students safe and the line moving smoothly.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our amazing Eagle families who came out tonight! Our hallways were packed with bright smiles, warm welcomes, and so much energy. It was wonderful meeting our newest rising Kindergarteners and catching up with returning friends! 🤩

The wait is almost over! We can't wait to open our doors tomorrow evening to welcome all of our new and returning Eagles back to Baker Place Elementary.

Come meet your teachers, explore your classrooms, drop off school supplies, and kick off the 2026–2027 school year with confidence!

To help keep parking smooth and ensure everyone has plenty of space to explore, please arrive during your designated hour based on your student’s last name:
