Seeing parents walk their children to our doors, hand in hand, is a powerful reminder of the trust you place in us every year. Education is never a solo journey. It is a shared partnership built on open communication, mutual respect, and a deep commitment to helping every student thrive.

The sun is rising over a perfect, beautiful morning, painting the sky just in time to welcome our youngest learners back! The halls are quiet no longer, laughter, squeaking sneakers, and first-day excitement are officially filling the air.

Parents and caregivers, as you walk up under this golden morning light, please don’t rush away. Pause, take a deep breath, and soak in the moment. We have our photo area and fun props ready for you to capture these memories, whether you're tearfully dropping off your little one for their very first day of school, or proudly watching your 5th grader walk in for their last first day at the elementary.

It is going to be a gorgeous day to kick off a magical year. Welcome back, families!

Lay out those first-day outfits, tomorrow is THE DAY!

Whether it’s your child’s very 1st day of school or their last first day of elementary school, these moments fly by. Tomorrow morning, we invite all parents and caregivers to linger a little longer, soak in the excitement, and snap those precious memories at our First Day Photo Booth! We’ll have props ready to capture the big smiles (and maybe a few happy tears).

From high-fives in the hallway to building brand-new friendships, a magical year is waiting for our youngest learners.

Get a good night’s sleep, dream big, and we’ll see you at drop-off! We can't wait to welcome you all back

Today we opened our doors to some of our amazing 5th graders for Color Guard training with Mr. Dan Peel! Color Guard is such a special tradition here at Groveton Elementary School, and our 5th graders are already showing so much excitement for their new roles.

We are SO grateful to the students who spent part of their final days of summer vacation training with us, and a huge thank you to Mr. Peel for taking a day out of his summer to hang out and coach our kids!
