Call to Order
Consent Agenda
A. Any Additions or Corrections to the Agenda to be Discussed
B. Approval of Minutes - August 12, 2026
Public Input
Any member of the public may address the Board regarding any item before them
for three (3) minutes. Those speaking will state their name, their residence, and
the item on which they wish to speak for the record. Members of the Board may
not respond to the comments of the public at the meeting. Publicly
communicating false statements about people that defame them could subject the
speaker to both criminal and civil liability in the state of New Hampshire. In that
vein, statements made at public input or at public hearings are not immune from
potential consequences for their words. Furthermore, the fact that the public body
does not prevent these statements from being made does not excuse or endorse
those statements; it just means that the public body, in this case the School Board,
both recognizes and respects the right to free speech enshrined in the First
Amendment to our Constitution.
New Business
A. Staffing Update - Jamie/Theresa
1. The School Board will consider approving One-Year Certificates
of Eligibility pursuant to NH RSA 189:39-b for designated district
personnel for the 2026-2027 school year. The candidates hold
qualifying degrees, are experienced educators, and have undergone
required background checks. This statutory authorization allows
qualified personnel to assume their assigned roles on Day 1 while
completing final state administrative testing requirements.
B. Remote Access Public vs Board - Rules
Continuing Business
A. GTA, GSSA & STA - Negotiations 2026
First meeting on ground rules on Monday, August 24, 2026.
3:00 pm at GHS

Jamie Brown, Stratford Public School Principal

As the new principal of SPS, I look forward to meeting and connecting with students, staff, families, and the North Stratford community. I am new to New Hampshire; I was born and raised in Houston, TX.

Even though I am new to this community, I already feel at home here. Being here reminds me of childhood summers spent at my grandparents’ house; helping in the garden, chasing chickens, exploring nature, and being unencumbered by outside ‘noise’. The people in this community have already proven to be some of the kindest, friendliest people.

My goal as the principal of SPS is to help our students grow personally and academically. We will accomplish these goals by incorporating real world experiences, integrating outdoor learning opportunities, fostering exploration, implementing accountability measures, and teaching our students to advocate for themselves.

I’ve worked in education for over 10 years, teaching elementary, middle, and high school students. I’ve been an elementary school librarian, a high school CATE engineering teacher, an upper elementary Montessori teacher, and I’ve taught every subject in grades 4-6. Prior to teaching, I worked in the corporate sector for 20 years. I hold an MBA, M.Ed., BSM (Management), and soon a MLS (Master in Library Science). I am a life-long learner, and I hope to instill a love of learning in our students.

Melissa Jones, Groveton Elementary School Assistant Principal

Having the chance to join Groveton Elementary School as the Assistant Principal and work with the dedicated individuals of SAU 58 is a wonderful gift. I was born and raised in New Hampshire, where I also studied to obtain a BA in Art at Plymouth State University. After graduating I began my career in public education as a paraeducator working with middle and high school students for 7 years. During that time I decided I wanted to teach and worked to obtain my MAT in visual art with K-12 certification. In 13 years of visual art teaching I had the opportunity to instruct K-12th grade students and adults in the Above the Notch Community School. Although I loved teaching art, and still do, I studied to achieve my CAGS in Arts Leadership and Learning. I began to feel a longing to support other teachers, which guided me into school administration. As I begin my 23rd year in education, I am looking forward to meeting and working with our students, their families, and community members.
