Our spiritual theme for the year is Steadfast and Immovable in Christ - 1 Corinthians 15:58 (ESV): “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain."

At our Annual Legacy Dinner this past May, we honored those who have shown steadfast service to Madison Christian School. Ashley Leach was recognized as our 2026 One Hour Hero of the Year!

Our One Hour Heroes provide steadfast support on campus. Whether they sacrifice an hour a year, an hour a semester, an hour a month, an hour a week, or an hour a day, they are more than volunteers. They shine the Gospel for our students and staff as a living sacrifice of time, energy, and care.

Ashley has served as a One Hour Hero for two years. She has passed out countless lunches, cleaned lunch tables, co-led the Christmas Gift Shop, spent many Wednesday mornings serving our teachers, stacked chairs after chapel, chaperoned field trips, helped with Speech Meet, and assisted with many classroom events. “She truly lives a Barnabas life of encouraging others and serving with her whole heart,” said Primary School Principal Alice Brooks. “From the first day I met her, I knew she was someone who loves to serve the Lord.”

From our littlest Eagles beginning their journey in the Eagles Nest to our seniors' last first day, it was a joy to welcome our students back to school this week! We can't wait to see how the Lord works in the hearts of our students and staff this year! 🦅💙

This week’s is Assistant to the Director of Athletics and MCYAL Coordinator Francis Fiankor:

Francis holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration from Kent State University and has experience in athletic administration, sports operations, and facility management. His professional background includes roles with Kent State Athletics, the Columbus Crew, and TOCA Soccer, where he supported event operations, facility management, and administrative operations.

Francis says, “I am very passionate about developing student-athletes, building strong relationships, and serving both the school and the surrounding community. As a lifelong sports enthusiast, I enjoy staying active through hiking, fitness, and following a variety of sports. I am very committed to creating a positive, Christ-centered athletic environment where students can grow in character, leadership, and excellence.”

🎶 Announcing our Fine Arts Season! 🎭

In addition to our MS/HS Band and Choirs, this year we will be offering a Children's Choir for students in 1st-5th grade.

Last fall, we came to you on our Day of Giving with a request to help us raise $40,000 to replace the carpet in our Primary School. We are still humbled that through God's faithfulness, prayers, and the generosity of the MCS community, the goal was met!

Over the summer, nearly 9,000 square feet of new carpet was installed throughout the Primary School building. We also refreshed the space with paint and updated trim and door frames.

Thanks to your partnership, students will return this week to a beautifully updated space where they will continue to discover God's truth, goodness, and beauty as we educate for eternity. Thank you!

In July, members of the Madison Christian School faculty attended a Classical Christian Teacher Training at Mars Hill Academy in Mason, Ohio.

The Association of Classical Christian Schools-endorsed training focused on equipping Classical Christian educators with practical tools, strategies, and a renewed perspective as they prepare to lead and teach students in the coming school year.

Congratulations to Angela Russell on her new role as Fine Arts Teacher at Madison Christian School! In her new role, Mrs. Russell will teach drama classes and assist the Response to Intervention team. She will also direct the new 1st-5th grade Children’s Choir, as well as a yearly 3rd-5th theatre production in the fall and MS/HS theatre production in the spring.

Mrs. Russell is a graduate of Ohio Christian University, has a Master’s in Teaching Early Childhood Education from Muskingum University, and has been an elementary teacher for 22 years. She directed MCS’s 2026 theatre production of “Little Women” and enjoys acting, directing, and music directing alongside her husband Paul within theatre communities such as Ohio University Lancaster, Roundtown Players, Rise Up Art Alliance, and Pickerington Community Theatre.

Mrs. Russell says, “This is like a dream come true for me! To teach young minds to explore the arts with a biblical emphasis every day and work in a wonderful culture is such a blessing. I’m excited to see what God does this year!”
