🧡 Every Child Matters 🧡
Today, our staff at Gyohsa:’ Early Childhood proudly wore orange in honor of Every Child Matters.
For us, wearing orange is more than wearing a color. It is an act of remembrance, respect, and responsibility.
We remember the Native children who were taken from their families, communities, languages, cultures, and ways of life through the boarding school system. We honor the children who never made it home, the survivors who carried those experiences with them, and the generations of families who continue to feel the effects today.
Working in early childhood makes this day especially meaningful to us. Every single day, we have the responsibility and privilege of caring for Native children, helping them feel safe, loved, valued, and proud of who they are.
Our children deserve to grow up surrounded by their culture, hearing their languages, learning their traditions, being held close by their families, and knowing that they belong.
Today, we wore orange for the children who were not given those things.
We wore orange for the survivors.
We wore orange for our ancestors.
And we wore orange for the children walking through our doors today and for the generations still to come.
At Gyohsa:’ Early Childhood, we want every child to know that they are important, their identity matters, their culture matters, their voice matters, and their future matters.
🧡 Every Child Matters. Every Day. 🧡
