Look who we found! While we were using our extensive microfilm collection here at the library, we found this fun throwback.

Mrs. Cheryl Clarke often uses Facebook to share memories of band members from her and Mr. Gene Clarke's band teacher days, so we wanted to share one of Mr. & Mrs. Clarke, in return.

Grove Hill Public Library's microfilm collection can assist you in genealogy, data research, or simply going on a trip down memory lane. Our library staff are happy to show you how to use this free local resource.

GHPL is open M-F 9am - 5:30pm and the 1st Saturday of each month from 10am - 4pm.

🌟📚✏️ We had our Back to School Storytime this morning!!

💛 We have officially moved our Children’s Section to the O’melia Family Room, and while we are still making some changes and getting furniture and new toys in, we have had a BLAST so far!

This is open to Contractors, Roofers, Insurance Agents, and Real Estate Agents.

Lunch is provided.

2 educational hours are provided to those who register.

Rebuilding Together of South Alabama is partnering with Smart Home America to host an info session on fortified roofs. Smart Home America will provide information on the training requirements for a fortified roofing system and has financial support to offer free training to 6 local participants and 1 evaluator.

We have OFFICIALLY wrapped up Summer Reading 2026 at the Library!🥹 We wanted to make a post to say THANK YOU!!

💛📦 To Feeding the Gulf Coast for providing non-congregate food boxes for our families each week!

🧡⛪️ To Grove Hill United Methodist Church for opening your gym for us so our growing Storytime could have the space it needed this summer

❤️🍧 To Rod’s Snow Cone for surprising our Storytime friends with a sweet treat today!

💚💰 To First U.S. Bank for taking the time to visit and share a wonderful Storytime presentation with our older kids!

🩵🫶🏼 Thank you to our incredibly generous donors, our countless volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to do this without all of you!

🤍🌟 To every parent and caregiver who made trips to the library this summer, every child who participated in our Summer Reading for Prizes program, and everyone who continues to support our library!

Getting to watch our library filled this summer with curiosity and smiling faces has been the BEST, so thank you for making this summer one we will NEVER forget! We can’t wait to see you back at the library soon! ❤️📚

We will be distributing 292 boxes tomorrow (Thursday, July 30, 2026) from 2pm-4pm for children ages 2-18 years old. Each box contains 7 shelf-stable breakfasts and lunches. This is our final food box giveaway for the summer.

There are no income or residency requirements.
If you haven’t participated in this summer’s food box giveaway, an adult must bring their valid ID and each child’s birth certificate OR bring the children you are picking up for.

Each food box weighs approx. 25 lbs each, so please bring assistance if you are picking up multiple boxes. We do not recommend small children lifting and carrying these for you.
