Yesterday, Ohio State cheerleading alum Tina Provost visited Darbydale Elementary School on behalf of the Team Tressel Fitness Challenge. She led students through activities while sharing how healthy habits, goal-setting and consistency can support success in and out of the classroom.

The visit also reinforced an important connection to attendance: regular routines and progress begin with being present each day. Thank you to Tina and Team Tressel for spending the morning with Darbydale students!

In case you missed it, South Western City Schools hosted a virtual family Q&A introducing SchooLinks, a new college, career and military planning platform for students in grades 7-12.

Families can watch the recorded presentation to learn how SchooLinks helps students explore opportunities, track graduation progress and develop a plan for life after high school.

September is National Preparedness Month, and students across South Western City Schools are doing their part to help keep their school communities safe. At Richard Avenue Elementary School, fourth-grade students began their first Safety Patrol shifts last week after completing training to help younger classmates safely navigate nearby crosswalks during dismissal.

Through Safety Patrol, students help make safety a shared responsibility while building leadership skills, serving others and growing in confidence.

What comes next after graduation?

This year, South Western City Schools is introducing SchooLinks, a new tool for students and families in grades 7-12 to explore and plan for life after graduation.

SchooLinks brings career exploration, college planning, military options, apprenticeships, workforce opportunities, scholarships, internships and more together in one place. The platform also helps students connect their interests and strengths to future opportunities while tracking progress toward Ohio graduation requirements.

The goal is simple: helping every student develop a plan for what comes next.
