Rest in peace, Dr. Stanton. 🤍

Grove City College mourns the loss of Dr. Sam Stanton, longtime professor of Political Science. Dr. Stanton, who died Tuesday, was a gifted teacher, valuable mentor, accomplished scholar, and a beloved coworker and friend. He was an expert in international security issues, an enthusiast of classic rock (which he played in class), and a devoted Alabama football fan. His colleague, Dr. Michael Coulter ’91, said: “Sam loved the world – studying it and traveling to many places – and he loved his local community where he was an official for so many football games, helped lead youth football programs, was active in his local church, and volunteered with the Salvation Army. Sam taught and wrote about war and many other dark things in the world, but he was a light in his local community.” Join us in praying for comfort, peace, and strength for the Stanton family, the College community, and all those who loved Dr. Stanton.
