Today was such a blast and bittersweet too, saying goodbye to some families with children moving on to elementary schools. Promise you will visit! Thank you to all of our children, families and camp counselors for a sensational "safari" at GCS Camp! And congratulations to our GCS Camp Co-Directors, Heidi and Jess. We had such a FUN summer!!

We had a big BBQ bash to end GCS Camp today! Thank you to ALL of our camp families for contributing yummy ingredients, and to the Stelling, Bell, Lucot, Borek, and Lampros Families for grilling, serving, setting and cleaning up! Our thanks to the Grove family for lending the big grill to make it all possible. Everything was so delicious and the children were so happy!

Thank you to Groton Firefighter Chris Quigley for visiting GCS Camp this week (Special Guest Visit #2)! AND he brought his fire engine!! It is always wonderful to welcome Groton firefighters, and especially a GCS parent, to learn about fire safety, tour the firetruck, and see children's delight in climbing aboard!

We had a doubly great time with TWO special guest visits this week! Thank you to Joanne Csaplar and Kristina Hepburn (Special Guest Visit #1) for baking/making Strawberry Shortcake with full day campers! Woohoo!!! It was a fabulous finale for Session 2 of GCS Camp, with a Lions group play, ice cream sundaes and a "Lion King" rest time in the Community Room. The BIG surprise however, was a visit from Woofster of the WooSox!! Woofster shared handshakes and stickers, photos and fun with everyone! What makes GCS Camp amazing? The kids of course! Also the camaraderie and community, fun with the theme and activities, and of course, the Staff. A special thank you for recent special events in our Community Room from Eyob (Sports Day), Becca (Fun with Snakes and Frogs), and Jennie for leading the Lions' group plays for Session 1 & 2!!
